BIEM is the international organisation representing mechanical rights societies.
CEDAR (Centrum voor Dienstverlening Auteurs- en aanverwante Rechten: Centre for Service to Author’s and Related Rights) is responsible for managing several foundations involved in the collection of compensation for the use of material protected by copyright and the subsequent distribution of the compensation to the rightful beneficiaries, entitled to this compensation. Cedar maintains their administration and provides advice and service.
CISAC works to protect the rights and promote the interests of creators across all regions of the world and artistic fields; music, audiovisual, drama, literature and visual arts. They aim to secure fair remuneration for creators for the use of theirs works anywhere in the world.
GESAC (the European Grouping of Societies of Authors and Composers) groups 33 of the largest authors’ societies in the European Union, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland. NORMA (Neighbouring Rights organization for musicians and actors) represents the interests of all performing artists. NORMA primarily distributes royalties for private copying and lending rights in the Netherlands to (inter)national performing artists (e.g. musicians actors, singers, dancers, comedians, entertainers and performers, puppet players and mimes, irrespective of style).
Sekam and Sekam Video
SEKAM and SEKAM Video collect anumber of copyright fees for audiovisual works abroad and distribute these fees among the rightholders, the producers of such films and television programmes that have the relevant rights.
Platform Multimediaproducenten (Multimedia Producers Platform)
De Stichting Platform Multimediaproducenten was founded in 2002 and represents producers and publishers of interactive media in the distribution of the home copying levy.
The Stichting Thuiskopievergoeding Audioproducenten (Foundation Home Copying Audio producers) represents producers of sound carriers in the distribution of the home copying levy and lending right remunerations.
The BREIN foundation is the joint anti-piracy programme of authors, artists, publishers, producers and distributors of music, film, games, interactive software and books (see members). BREIN is the central contact for rightholders, government, law enforcement, trade and media in the Netherlands with respect to all issues concerning the unauthorised copying and distribution of entertainment products both offline and online. BREIN is the Dutch acronym for “Protection Rights Entertainment Industry Netherlands” and also, more importantly, the Dutch word for “brain”.
De Fotografen Federatie (Photographer Federation of the Netherlands for advertising, editorial and fashion photography) is committed to the advancement of professional photographers in general and the business, social and cultural interests of photographers in particular, and works to keep the image of the profession strong.
Stichting de Thuiskopie
The Stichting de Thuiskopie (Private Copying Foundation/Home Copying Foundation) collects levies for rightholders from the manufacturers and importers of blank sound and image carriers.
Stichting Leenrecht (Dutch Public Lending Right Office) collects and distributes fees for the lending and rental of copyright protected works.
The Stichting Lira (Lira Foundation) represents the rights of writers, editors and translators of literary works.
Pictoright is the author’s rights organisation for visual creators in the Netherlands: illustrators, artists, graphic designers, photographers and other professional image creators. Pictoright distributes collective royalties, manages copyrights for artists, provides legal assistance, offers advice and strives for a better copyright position for image creators.
Stichting PRO (PRO Foundation) carries out the collective administration of the copyrights of publishers and authors.
Stichting Reprorecht (Reprographic Reproduction Rights Foundation) collects and distributes fees for the (photo)copying of short excerpts from copyright protected writings.
VEVAM is the Dutch Collective Management Organisation (CMO) for film and television directors and collects and distributes remunerations for the use of audiovisual works for. Including shares of the fees that cable operators pay for the transmission of works and the so-called private copying and public lending fees.
VIDEMA is a collective management organisation that arranges permits and fees for companies and institutions regarding the showing of film and television images.
VOI©E is the Association of Organisations for the Collective Exploitation of Intellectual Property (Vereniging van Organisaties die Intellectueel eigendom Collectief Eploiteren).
All Dutch collective management organisations (CMOs) for copyright or neighbouring rights are members of VOI©E. These organisations have agreed to a code of conduct (including transparency and completeness of terms and conditions for users). VOI©E also strives for a more widespread understanding of the exercising of copyright and neighbouring rights. And VOI©E acts as the central point of contact for business on matters pertaining to copyright and neighbouring rights, and people can come to VOI©E if they have any comments or complaints,
